As The Motorcycle Lawyer, I've had the opportunity to help a lot of people who have been affected by crashes. Having seen first-hand how devastating motorcycle crashes can be, I've made a firm commitment to give back to the biker community and try to prevent crashes when possible.

That's why I thought it was important to share with you a recall announcement by Harley-Davdison that affects more than 66,000 ABS-equipped 2014 Touring model bikes. The issue, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), is that there is a possibility that the front brake line can become pinched between the fuel tank and the bike frame. This could potentially cause the front wheel to lock up as the pressure on the brake line increases. Obviously, if your front wheel locks up while you're in motion, you're potentially at risk for a crash.

Harley-Davidson is going to begin contacting the owners of affected vehicles this month (July 2014), and dealers will be making the necessary repairs for free. Repairs may include replacement of the brake line if it's damaged, and installation of cables to prevent the line from getting trapped in the first place.
